I thought all ships gave a 40% base payout. I've read stories on here of people in wormholes finding carriers, boarding them and then sd'ing them for the insurance.

Is it possible to self destruct a ship that isn't yours and still get the base insurance payout? i.e. I find ship X floating in space. I board and self destruct ship X. Will I get money for it and if so how much?
